The reputation of AMP was damaged more than those of the big four banks, according to the Reputation Institute, which tracks sentiment towards large, well-known national companies.

AMP was the lowest-ranking organisation among the companies tracked after its ranking dropped suddenly and significantly after a host of issues were exposed by the Hayne royal commission. The company's share price more than halved in 2018 from $5.20 to $2.45 and has fallen again in 2019.
